Alliant Energy Center is a complex located in the city of Madison, the state of Wisconsin. It is there where the Veterans Memorial Coliseum is found that has a capacity of 10,000 seats. The center also different other parts including an Exhibition Hall, an Arena, a Willow Island an more. Every year, over one million people attend the large number of events that appear in the center including sports events and hot concerts.

Alliant Energy Center Coliseum 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI, 53713

The construction of Alliant Energy Center started in 1974 and it used to be called Expo Center. When there was great demand on events apart from concerts and sports events, there was a great need for expansion of the center. And in 1978, a new building named the Forum was constructed added to the now Youth Building now called Administration Building, and it hosted banquets public functions and trade shows. But in 1995, the Exhibition Hall will take the place of the Forum.

For the Veterans Memorial Coliseum it was constructed in 1967 as a multi use arena with a capacity of 10,231 seats. It used to be called Dane County Coliseum, and it plays host for several events including concerts, sports events, family shows and a lot of events. In 2005, the Coliseum that has a long history with hockey was renovated. It used to be home for the hockey team Wisconsin Badgers from 1967 until 1998. It used to be considered among the largest college hockey arenas in the country.

The women hockey team Wisconsin Badgers also played some of its games at the arena between 1999 and 2001. Every year, the Coliseum host WIAA state hockey competitions. Other minor sports teams have called the Coliseum home including Madison Monsters, Madison Kodiaks, and Madison Mad Dogs. The indoor football team Wisconsin Wolfpack played one season in the arena in 2009, but relocated later. The Coliseum always host great events including for instance American Idols Live!, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and concerts of big names such as Chris Brown, Maya Angelou, Katy Perry, and many others.
